Short answer
Treatments at the practice in Essen-Rüttenscheid: prevention, aesthetic dentistry, tooth preservation, dental restorations, implant dentistry and support for dental anxiety.
Main treatment areas
- Professional teeth cleaning: Professional teeth cleaning complements daily oral hygiene by specifically removing biofilm and accessible deposits. The appropriate extent and frequency depend on the individual's oral health findings. Professional teeth cleaning
- Periodontitis: Periodontitis affects the tooth-supporting structures and requires systematic treatment involving diagnostics, biofilm control, subgingival instrumentation and long-term follow-up care. Laser or photodynamic procedures are used at the practice only as adjuncts and where specifically indicated. Periodontitis treatment
- Teeth whitening: Professional teeth whitening can lighten the colour of natural teeth. Before treatment, the teeth and gums are assessed to determine whether whitening is appropriate and whether existing fillings, crowns or veneers may affect colour planning. Teeth whitening
- Veneers: Ceramic veneers may be used in selected aesthetic or restorative situations to modify tooth shape, colour or visible tooth surfaces. How much tooth structure needs to be prepared, and whether a non-prep approach is possible at all, depends on the individual tooth anatomy and treatment plan. Veneers
- Dental fillings: For caries or other limited defects, direct tooth-coloured composite restorations may be appropriate. For larger defects, an indirect ceramic restoration such as an inlay or onlay may be the more suitable option. Dental fillings
- Root canal treatment: If the dental pulp has become irreversibly inflamed or has died, root canal treatment may make it possible to preserve a tooth that is otherwise considered restorable. Diagnosis, preparation of the root canals, irrigation, root filling and the subsequent definitive restoration are all integral parts of the treatment process. Root canal treatment
- Crowns, bridges and dentures: Depending on the individual situation, treatment options may include crowns, bridges, implant-supported restorations, or removable partial or complete dentures. Which restoration is appropriate depends, among other factors, on the remaining teeth, available tooth structure, bone conditions, functional load and the patient's ability to maintain the restoration. Dental restorations
- CEREC & CAD/CAM: With the digital CEREC workflow, suitable restorations can be scanned, designed and, in some cases, manufactured directly at the practice. Inlays, onlays and suitable veneers may be completed in a single appointment in appropriate cases; for crowns and more extensive restorations, the process depends on the material and individual clinical situation. CEREC and digital dental restorations
- Dental implants: Dental implants may replace one or more missing teeth or support a dental prosthesis. Planning must consider the available bone, general health, individual risk factors and the subsequent prosthetic restoration together. When medically indicated, digital 3D planning, guided surgery and surgical guides manufactured at the practice are available. However, CBCT imaging or guided implant placement is not automatically necessary in every case. Dental implants
- Dental anxiety: If visiting the dentist is difficult for you, the appointment can be structured differently. At the practice, this may include discussion before treatment, an agreed stop signal, breaks, shorter or staged appointments where appropriate, and local anaesthesia according to the treatment being performed. Advanced sedation or general anaesthesia procedures are not part of the practice's regular treatment offering. Dental anxiety
Which treatment is right for me?
A website cannot replace a clinical examination.
A visible defect, for example, may require a direct filling, an inlay, an onlay or a crown depending on how much tooth structure is affected. For a missing tooth or gap, a bridge, implant or removable dental restoration may each offer different advantages and disadvantages. A darker tooth colour may result from external deposits, the natural colour of the teeth or changes affecting individual teeth.
For this reason, treatment decisions at the practice begin with the clinical findings and treatment objective , rather than with a particular device or material.
Digital technology where it makes sense
The practice uses, among other systems, Primescan AC, MC XL, MC X5, inLab 22, Primeprint, SpeedFire, digital 2D/3D X-ray diagnostics, SICAT Suite and ICX-MAGELLAN X 5.4.
Depending on the clinical question, these systems can support digital impressions, CAD/CAM manufacturing, 3D printing or implant planning.
The availability of this technology does not mean that it needs to be used for every patient. The clinical indication determines the appropriate workflow.
